Kinky things and Burgers....TALE  AS  OLD  AS  TIME....

You guys might think my titles don't make any sense but don't worry, my train of thought takes me ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!!

DISCLAIMER: if you're here for the recipe of the month, scroll down :)

What I mean by this month's title is that complaining and confusion on the difficulty of maintaining curls is a "tale as old as time..." and knowing the right tricks could determine wether you look like a beauty or a beast....don't judge, it made sense in my head.

Curly hair needs TLC.....the following are NOT things i got from any other website. they are from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE of having unruly curls my entire life!

Common Curl Mistakes:
  1. Brushing it out with a bristly big brush
  2. Regular use of Mousse/Hairspray/Extra Hold Gels
  3. Blow drying
  4. Washing hair everyday
  5. Using thin/flimsy metal band hair ties

Here's what I do:

  1.  Wash with a paraben free/lightly exfoliating shampoo (the most you should be washing is every other day....we need some natural oils to make sure our hair doesn't get dried out)
  2. Wrap in a towel turban and leave it for 10 min
  3. Comb through my hair with my fingers and massage my scalp
  4. Styling in winter--use a small amount of organic argan hair oil and scrunch through curls, cover evenly....and work into the hair only...NOT the scalp; Styling in summer-- Do the same thing but use a light weight, paraben free frizz control serum or leave-in conditioner (DevaCurl is a GREAT brand)
  5. If i have to put my hair up...I use fabric covered/ouchless thick hair bands....the thin ones will get tangled easily and pull at hair, as will the metal banded ones....get rid of those! Otherwise, let your curls down....don't go to bed with them put up, that's less breathing room for the scalp!
  6. To define the girls, you can pin curl some of the top most sections after you apply your product and take them down before you leave the house. Or use a thin curling iron and avoid the clamp....just twirl your hair manually around the barrel and let them go .

You guys that's it!!! Let your curls or natural waves live their life! They know what they're doing.

NOW! "I don't have enough time or energy to cook fresh meals every day" is also a "Tale as old as time" So here's some tips to make your life easier in the kitchen...AND this month's recipe is an outdoor grill or indoor stove top friendly BURGER!!!!! guilt free so you can have more than one if ya want....
