You'll never guess who said that quote in the title...CHARLIE SHEEN! I am begrudgingly yet humbly acknowledging the intelligence and poignancy of that statement.
Now to continue what the newsletter said....
I am definitely one of those people who shares more uplifting inspiration and the days that I have that seem more success and positivity.
Does that mean I have the perfect life? No....it means that I am CHOOSING to see the light at the end of the tunnel on those days when things aren't going my way. It is not anyone on my social network's burden to console me on a bad day...that is truly impersonal and a total cop out on MY part...It is MY responsibility to personally seek out support from people who can get me through it with real human interaction.
Wouldn’t it be so great if we could look at those positive posts from those who seem to have it together as an invitation for more personal communication? If you see someone that is continually positive and sharing their success, then why not reach out to them and soak up that energy over a phone call or a coffee date? There is a lot of animosity developing through the misperceptions of information being put out on social media. "Ain’t nobody got time fa dat!"
Let's all let ourselves be vulnerable once in a while through human interaction and reach out to one another to see how we can lift eachother up. It’s something I’m always getting better at and always find reward in doing so. recipe of the Month: Pumpkin Chili
1 can rinsed organic lentils
1 can rinsed organic kidney beans
1 cup chopped shiitake mushrooms
1 cup chopped celery
3/4 cup organic pumpkin puree
1/4 of a large red onion chopped
8 oz of your favorite gluten free beer
1 tsp organic tomato paste
1 chopped poblano pepper
1/2 box of gluten free, low sodium veggie stock
(optional) 1 cup of cooked quiona or brown rice
olive oil for cooking
2 tsp chili powder (1 tsp for mushroom topping/1 tsp for chili)
2 tsp ground cumin (1 tsp for mushroom topping/1 tsp for chili)
1 bay leaf
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp coriander
