HELLO HELLO! Hope the rain isn't getting you too down. I hear the sun is just around the corner in time for the official start of summer....Memorial Day Weekend.
I will be spending my weekend rehearsing for The Count of Monte Cristo: a new musical! That's right, my first workshop in the city and the first musical I have done in about 3 years. I will be playing Haydee the Princess who wins over Cristo's heart in the end.
Everyone in the cast is so nice and I'm having a lovely time. This show is the perfect example of "ask and you shall receive" The director/casting director Jamibeth Margolis and I met about a year and half ago when I was auditioning for another new workshop that she was casting and she told me that she would keep me on her radar because she thought I gave a great audition. Sure enough, I saw a breakdown for Monte Cristo a few weeks ago with her name attached and I thought, well I haven't really kept in touch, so the worst that can happen is she wont respond."
Anyway, I auditioned and booked it. Its time like this when I have to remind myself that pacing and timing is everything. I have to do something for my craft/career everyday whether its write an email, work on a scene, or even listening to new music for my rep.
Look on the "NEWS" page for all the ticket info. hope you can make it! Stay tuned for my June post.
